Entering The USA

The first step to vanlife: getting into the USA.

For most Singaporeans, traveling to the USA is a breeze. Apply for an ESTA a few days in advance, and you are good to go. However, ESTA’s only last you 90 days! If you’re planning a trip longer than 90 days, you’re going to need another type of Visa.

That’s when B-2 Tourist Visa’s come in. These visa’s last for 180 days, and can be reapplied/extended in case you can more than 180 days. There are tons of websites out there to guide you along the process, so we shall not elaborate on the process here.

Although, we do want to share that the application for a B-2 Visa is labor intensive and could take a long while! Expect a minimum of 1 month to get your B-2 Visa, or even probably up to 6 months.

Lastly, remember to take your B-2 Visa interview seriously! We do know of people who have had their visa’s rejected because of their lack of preparation.
